Children and Families

We are committed to ensuring a safe, loving, and secure environment for children at Derbyshire. Children learn Bible stories, engage in enriching activities, discover the love of Jesus, and discern how to live faithfully every day. We offer a variety of family-friendly events throughout the year to encourage families to worship, learn, serve, and love together!

Child Safety

Our childcare workers participate in training events and truly care about providing an environment full of comfort and safety. Derbyshire has performed a background check on all childcare workers.

Worship Explorers

10:30 am Every Sunday

Derbyshire Baptist Church’s Worship Explorers program is designed to prepare children for a lifetime of participation in worship. During the worship service, infants through Kindergarteners actively learn about various elements of worship through Bible stories, songs, games, and crafts.

Music and Missions Camps

Our "M&M Camps" take place throughout the school year on Sundays from 4:00 - 5:30 pm and provide a fun and engaging program that combines music and missions for children ages 3 through 5th grade! Kids have a blast learning about music through singing, playing instruments, and exploring ways to lead in worship. In the missions component, children discover stories of missionaries from around the world and understand that they too can share the message of Jesus wherever they are. Our goal is to help children cultivate a deep sense of expressing love towards God and one another. Come be a part of this exciting journey with us.

family Blessings and Dedications

Rosebuds

Each child born into the Derbyshire Baptist family is honored with a rosebud during a worship service. On the Sunday the rosebud is displayed, we include a birth announcement in the worship bulletin. Please contact Elizabeth Tuck for more information.

Blessing Blankets

Members of our church have been called to serve by making blessing blankets to welcome new babies and provide prayer and support to families. Please contact Elizabeth Tuck for more information.

Family Dedications

The commitment of parents to partner with God and with the church in raising their children in a Christian home is a time for celebration. Our Family Dedication is an opportunity for parents to publicly promise to seek God’s will for their children. Family Dedication is not only a spiritual dedication of the family to grow the child within the ways of the Lord; it is also a commitment of the family of faith at Derbyshire Baptist to become lifelong partners with each family dedicated. Please contact Dr. Jeff Raymond for more information.
