Rev. Dr. Jeff Raymond

Senior Pastor • jraymond@dbcrichmond.org

Dr. Jeff Raymond grew up in a pastor’s family, living on the East coast and West coast of Canada. He graduated from Furman University, where he played football and was a part of the 1988 1-AA National Championship team. It was while he was working as a claims adjuster for S.C. Farm Bureau that Jeff responded to God’s call to ministry. He received his MDiv from Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond and his DMin from Virginia Theological Seminary.

Jeff was called to Derbyshire in 2012, after serving as pastor at Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church in Roxboro, N.C. for 7 years, and serving as pastor at First Baptist Church Hopewell for 7 years.

Jeff believes that a central tenant of his calling is restoring relationships and creating fellowship within congregations. He sees himself as an “equipper,” giving people the tools they need to perform their own ministry effectively.

In his free time, Jeff and his wife, LeJeanna, love to support their 2 daughters in their activities. He enjoys watching and playing different sports, walking with his wife and two dogs, and laughing with friends.
