The DBC Handbell Ministry, equipped with five octaves of handbells and five octaves of hand chimes, is designed to provide children, youth, and adults the opportunity to learn beginning ringing techniques and musical notation, while challenging them to expand existing musical skills and enhance Sunday worship experiences through handbells.
The Joyful Sound Choir is composed of young adults with previous handbell experience. With brief seasonal rehearsals, this group contributes to the worship life of our congregation by offering selections at Christmas and other occasions.
The Derbyshire Ringers is an adult handbell choir for experienced ringers that rehearses Sundays, 4:45 - 5:45 PM. Having participated in past Virginia Baptist State Handbell Festivals, this group of seasoned ringers faithfully lead in both Sunday worship services and consistently find themselves playing demanding literature that utilizes many thrilling handbell techniques and special effects.
